Inquilab Rally Pledge
We are inheritors of the great and bright tradition of uncompromising struggle against imperialism. Today the whole world is crushed by the blood-stained fist of imperialism. Our ruling class, mortgaging our national sovereignty and self-respect, has surrendered before imperialism. This is extremely shameful and humiliating for a nation with a population of one billion, which is the inheritor of the great and uncompromising traditions of the First Indian War of Independence of 1857, Bhagat Singh and Naxalbari. In this Inquilab Rally of 23 March, the martyrdom day of Rajguru-Sukhdev-Bhagat Singh, we give our revolutionary salute to all those known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, democracy and social transformation of the motherland and resolve to carry forward the unfinished task of the immortal martyrs to its goal, and fulfil their dreams.
In India, the brutal face of capitalism which is implementing the imperialist economic agenda is daily becoming clearer in the form of communal violence, poverty, starvation, retrenchment of lakhs of workers, suicides of thousands of farmers, widespread unemployment, loot of public assets, grabbing of peasants’ fertile land, massive corruption, displacement of tribals and devastation of nature and the environment. In order to crush the movements rising up against these policies, a regime of bullets and batons and draconian laws is being imposed on people. We resolve never to allow such devastation in the name of development and repression in the name of democracy, and to stake our lives on the struggle to defend our national sovereignty, genuine democracy and social change.
On this historic occasion, we resolve to affirm and uphold Tebhaga-Telengana-Naxalbari’s legacy of peasant resistance and march ahead to take the battle for national sovereignty, democracy and people’s rights towards its goal. We reiterate our resolve to call to all the genuine Leftist, democratic and patriotic forces to unite with this cause.
